Scary Stories
Right not, I am done with the book called "More Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark." The book I have been reading was by Alvin Schwartz. It is about people who get haunted by many ghosts but I am sure it is a fiction book because there are not the kind of ghosts in the world from the book. In the world, ghosts don't really kill people, they just try to scare some other people away like you but I it's a fiction book about ghosts and that what I know about the book I've been reading in class every morning.

Yes, I think it is fiction. It is interesting that scary stories are often billed as true stories to make them more interesting to people.
ReplyDeleteI remember when the Blair Witch movie came out there were a lot of people who thought it was an actual documentary (nonfiction). It was sold that way for a while and there was even a web-site that seemed to show how true it was. Of course it was made up, but that question whether it was true or not got a lot of people to go see the movie to decide for themselves, so they sold more tickets to see it (and video/DVD's of it).
Clever marketing, but the reader should always remember that although some of what is in a fiction book may be true and some of what is in a nonfiction book may also be inaccurate or outright untrue. There was a book that the publisher had to give people their money back a few years ago because the author said it was true... and it wasn't. Always think for your self too, and decide whether the sources are believable (multiple sources mean it is more likely to be true).
